Introducing my good friend Rick

 Hi Everyone, it's Hannah.  Soon you'll hear from Rick but first I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce him to you, just so you know how important he is to me.

I first met Rick Adams at a shelter in Winnipeg MB in 2003 when I was 8 years old.  My friend Rick is one of my heroes.  He has struggled with hunger, homelessness and poverty for many, many years but with courage and hard work my friend Rick now has a place to call home, a job and works with us at the Ladybug Foundation on our Advisory Board.  He helps us every day to know better the needs of our homeless, hungry and impoverished people.  Rick speaks from his heart and his belief in the importance of caring, makes him incredibly special. 

  One of the most important things Rick ever taught me (and he has taught me a lot) Rick said because he knew I loved and cared about him, that when he would wake up behind a dumpster he would think “Today I can try harder, today I can care about me because I know Hannah cares about me.”  That showed me the true power of caring and that caring can and will change our world for the better.

Soon Rick will take over this blog  - he's just been so busy working at his new job, but I'll let him tell you all about that!
